Welcome, Nau Mai - Haere mai!

Welcome to New Plymouth Montessori.  We are proud of our Montessori heritage and pleased to announce that we are the oldest continuously running Montessori school in New Zealand.

Our priority continues to be providing the best education possible for our tamariki (children) through a traditional Montessori education. In continuing with a holistic education, we also embrace the philosophy of the virtues curriculum.

We currently offer education options from the ages 2 1/2 to 12 on two campuses, the Casa (2 1/2-6) and the Primary (6 -12.).

Our Casa environment is comprised of four classrooms and an outdoor classroom.  It is located on a beautiful 1.2 hectares of open play area surrounded by native bush nestled in a peaceful community of New Plymouth, Taranaki on the North Island of New Zealand.

The Primary unit is attached to Moturoa Primary school, an award-winning enviro-school, with a country school atmosphere.

Thank you for visiting our site and considering our school. We hope to provide all that you are looking for however, if you have questions, please contact us.
